Freckle is a project about the stories held in our clothes. Through interviews with people I know, these portraits explore notions of identity, culture and time: what clothes represent, the memories they hold and the versions of ourselves we’ve tried on and outgrown.
I’m fascinated by the transient nature of clothes: how their meaning shifts as we move through our lives. By tracing the history of individual pieces and the lives lived in them, Freckle resists the pull of the new and finds stories in what’s already hanging in our wardrobes.
